Dubai gold breaches Dh600 mark amid global precious metals surge
Silver volatility grows with tight physical supply conditions
DUBAI – Dubai gold prices climbed sharply on Saturday, with 24K reaching Dh601 per gram, marking one of the strongest levels seen this week.
The rise reflects a steady upward trajectory in retail jewellery rates tracked by Dubai Jewellery Group, alongside intense global momentum in precious metals.
Gains across all purities underline firm consumer-facing prices in the local market.
Dubai gold rates
Saturday’s suggested retail rates show 22K at Dh556.50, 21K at Dh533.50, 18K at Dh457.25 and 14K at Dh356.75 per gram. This compares with Friday’s Dh597 for 24K, Dh553 for 22K and Dh530.25 for 21K. On Thursday, 24K stood at Dh577.75 before rising from Wednesday’s Dh586.25, Tuesday’s Dh566 and Monday’s Dh562.
Over six days, 24K has advanced Dh39 per gram, with similar upward shifts across lower purities.
Global gold moves
Internationally, gold has remained elevated near record territory, with spot levels hovering around the $4,950 per ounce range after an earlier peak near $4,967. Weekly gains have approached 8%, supported by persistent safe-haven demand, trade tensions and broader economic volatility. Year-on-year, bullion has posted steep advances amid strong investor flows and accommodative monetary conditions in major economies.
Silver surge
Silver has drawn intense attention after moving above $100 per ounce, extending a powerful rally that began in 2025. Prices have climbed around 40% since the start of 2026 following a 147% jump last year.
Tightness in physical markets, retail-driven buying waves and momentum trading have amplified price swings. The gold-silver ratio has narrowed sharply to about 50 ounces of silver to one ounce of gold, highlighting silver’s relative outperformance.
